From stigma to strength - the art of beïng different. The title of my thesis and installation with which I graduated from my Graphic Design bachelors degree at ArtEZ University of the Arts.

With my thesis and installation I would like to draw attention to the strengths of people with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or AD(H)D by litterally shifting their perspective on the subject from a negative view to a positive one.

About 15% of Dutch adults have a neurodivergent brain. This includes people with ASD and AD(H)D. Neurodivergence is often associated with negative characteristics, such as hyperactivity, absence and inflexibility. You can also look at this in a different way. Are you not open to change, or are you loyal to your environment? Are you absent, or can you work very concentrated? Are you hyperactive or do you often come up with original ideas? It just depends on how you want to look at neurodivergence.

From Stigma to Strength - the art of being different is a combination of a 3D installation with photography and graphic text elements.
The video below explains more about the installation.
